Explore my level of engagement by articulating the following:
- Challenge: Is there a sufficient (but not unattainable) challenge to achieve the tasks of my role/s?
- Stimulation: Am I learning something new?
- Reward: Do I get feedback to show that I am making a clear sense of progress? Is my financial reward sufficient for this work?
A good balance of all three above will mean I am engaged and thus getting a meaningful sense of progress.
I may be:
- Burnt if I have too great a challenge or lack reward.
- Bored if I lack stimulation
- Blunt if I lack challenge; I may be losing some skills
If I am not engaged what strategies can I or we put in place to address this?
