In our Career Valuations tool, you are able to filter the results by a certain field in the users profile.

You may want to do this in certain situations where you want to group certain employees together, such as if you have multiple locations/offices and would like to filter the statistics by which location the employee resides at.

This article will guide you through the following:

  1. Creating the new Profile Item
  2. Assigning the Profile Item to the relevant people
  3. Filtering the Career Valuation data by the Profile Item

Creating the Profile Item

  1. Select the “Config” option in the navigation sidebar.
  2. Go to “Organisation Configuration” at the bottom of the configuration sidebar tab.
  3. Go to “Personal profile categories”.
  4. If you need to add a new profile category, you can do so by clicking the “Add profile category”, else you can select the category you would like to add your new profile item to.
  5. Click the “Add category item” button to add your new category

A dialog will show up prompting for details about your new profile item.

For our example here, we'll be calling this new profile item “Location”, and it will be a “Text” profile item type. Note that you can only filter by a “Text” field at this moment.

Assigning the Profile Item to the relevant people

Now that you have created the “Location” profile item, you can now set the location for the relevant people. First start by going to the person's profile page. You can do so by:

  • Clicking their name in the platform
  • Using the search bar in the top-right and typing (part) of their name
  • Navigating to the Employee Directory and clicking on the person

Once you have arrived on the person's profile:

  1. Click the “Edit” button in the top-right
  2. Click the edit icon for the category in which your Location profile item is

A dialog will prompt you for the value you'd like to fill in. In our example, we'll set their Location to “Australia”. Click “Save & close” once you're done.

Do the same for every person you need to set their location for.

Filtering the Career Valuation data by the Profile Item

Now that we've assigned a Location field, we can use that to filter the Career Valuation data.

  1. Select the “Org” sidebar tab.
  2. Go to “Career Valuation” in the navigation sidebar.
  3. Click the “Filter” button in the top-right to open the Filter popup.
  4. Under the “PROFILE ITEM” section, select your “Location” profile item
  5. Then select the desired profile item value to filter by, for this example we'll select “Australia”.

Afterwards, you should only see the people with the specified selected location.
