Navigate to the Organisation tab, and under Organisation Design, click on Roles
Find the Role you want to deactivate, and click the triple dot menu on the right-hand side. Click "Deactivate"
A confirmation dialog will appear, listing any affected items by the de-activation. Check the box to confirm, and press the 'deactivate' button.
The role will now appear as Inactive

What happens next?
To re-activate the role, click on the hamburger icon again, and click "Reactivate"

The role now appears as "Active" again, however, it will not have anyone assigned to it

This can be edited via Configure Role. The employee can either be re-activated, or a new person can be added to the role.
