We recommend using a check-in for your meetings to get everyone on board and connected to why they are meeting. Getting everyone to speak at the start increases their buy-in to the process and the desired outcomes. It's also an excellent opportunity for people to share what might be bothering them outside the room that will impact their performance or attention in the room.
Some examples of simple check-ins are:
- How are you arriving today?
- Why are you in the room?
- What are you enjoying the most about work at the moment?
- What is something to celebrate (at home or at work)?
💡 For an alternative check-in, the I-We-It framework is great.
💡 Use a parking lot to keep you and your team focused.
